I may sign off as ‘The Culinary Darwinist‘, but my friends and family call me Nic. I have an incurable case of wanderlust, both in mind and body, and have had the great privilege of exploring a large number of my interests. I received an education fit for a nerd from MIT where I studied Computer Science & Molecular Biology, but not before living in Paris and studying French Patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu. After that, I worked in healthcare tech and developer tools for a few years as a Product Manager, living in Boston and San Francisco. But despite switching coasts, my wanderlust took over. I’m about to embark on a rather itinerant lifestyle, hopping from here to there in my Airstream with my lovely pup Daisy and traveling abroad as much as I can.

I’m an obsessive person, and I don’t try to fight it. Every time obsession strikes, I learn something new about myself and constantly strive to unite my passions. These are some items that top my list of obsessions—I carry them around in my head for inspiration wherever I go.

  • Film: Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino

  • Fiction: The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut

  • Podcasts: Stuff You Should Know by HowStuffWorks, Planet Money by NPR

  • TV: Maniac by Cary Joji Fukunaga, everything by David Attenborough

  • Music: Beirut of Zach Condon, Tallest Man on Earth of Kristian Matsson

  • Food: Flour Café in Cambridge (specifically the 190 Mass Ave location)

I’d love it if you’d DM me on The Culinary Darwinist Instagram or shoot me a line here, and tell me about some of your obsessions! Like I said, inspiration abounds, and my curiosity is endless.
